I’ve recently started a yearlong internship at Mango Studio Production, where I have begun to learn first-hand about production from conception to completion. I have been running the companies social media accounts such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, regularly updating them with new content to build a greater online presence and demonstrate the kind of work we do, as well as blogging about the various videos that the company creates. Not only has this allowed me to develop my creative writing skills but has given me great insight into the different stages and precision of production.

I am currently an undergraduate studying Geography and Sociology at Newcastle University, and although it may be questionable why I’m an Intern at a video production company, I have always been particularly interested in media and production. My fascination began when I became intrigued in the way that documentaries were produced, and this spurred me to look further into media production as a future career path. In my own time I have produced a couple of films from holidays with friends and family, which have always been really fun to create, allowing me to expend my creative flare in a way that is different to essay writing in my academic studies. Having said this, my interests also lie within the creative writing aspects in describing new video productions that Mango carry out, where I am able to keep people up-to-date with what we have been working on in recent weeks via this blog.

My time here at Mango has been wonderful so far, and I am looking forward to working with the team in weeks to come, helping with in-house work and organising future productions.
