christmas at mango

Hello, I’m Gemma, the Business Manager for Mango Studio and I will be your host for this year’s Christmas newsletter (hence the reindeer photo!).

I’ve worked for Mango Studio now for nine months handling the company’s PR, HR, finance and business admin. 2009 has been a very exciting and demanding year. I would like to share our news with you and tell you about some of our plans for 2010.

moving on

Mango Studio opened new offices this year in Bristol. Our new offices are fantastic with excellent transport links not only to the South West but also to the M4 corridor, giving us access to clients in a far wider area. We are also retaining our Middlesbrough studio, where I am based, meaning that our links with the North East remain strong.

It has been a tough year for us, but despite the additional pressure of economic challenges, we are thrilled to have celebrated a number of award wins including Best Digital Technology 2009 and Best Business 2009. Managing Director Vinnie Morgan also scooped the top award in the Straight From Education category at the North East ‘If We Can, You Can’ campaign awards as well as being shortlisted for both GSEA International Entrepreneur 2009 and UK Interactive Entrepreneur 2009.

Winning these awards and receiving recognition for our skills and successes makes all our hard work worthwhile. Read more..

trio of delight

We have recently introduced three new members of staff to our team. David Whelan, Barry Swaisland and Antoine Kougblenou join Mango Studio at a very exciting stage as we continue to attract more brands and expand our South West regional team. David, Barry and Antoine have individual and specific roles in line with our strategic development team.

David Whelan joins us as Non-executive Director and Business Consultant, a role which will see him take responsibility for planning the strategic and continued growth and expansion of the company. Having worked with many major brand names previously, he is currently working with a number of companies (ranging from business start-ups to established brand names) in a variety of industry sectors. With over 30 years experience in various industries and a portfolio of prestigious companies, David brings a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of running and developing a successful business and will be a great asset to the company.

Barry Swaisland joins Mango Studio from Imperial Business Systems Ltd and takes on the role of Senior Developer. With 10 years experience, Barry will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our technical development teams in both Bristol and Shanghai, where he will ensure the time effective delivery of our projects and maintain our individual staff development plans.

The final addition to our team is Antoine Kougblenou, our new Technical Developer. Having recently graduated from Teesside University, Antoine brings fresh knowledge and enthusiasm to the team. In his new role, Antoine will work with our technical team and support help desk.

We welcome David, Barry and Antoine to the mango team! Read more..

ahead of the times

Here at Mango Studio, we like to stay ahead of the times. We’re always working to improve and expand the services and products we offer to our clients, keeping us on top of our game and at the very forefront of the market.

Without giving too much away, we’ll give you a little hint as to a new technology we will be introducing in 2010. It will be called MangoMob but that’s all we’re going to say for now so watch this space… Other exciting developments announced in 2009 and to watch out for in 2010 include…

Analytics

For all of our clients with Mango Studio CMS driven systems, we are pleased to announce that you can now access your analytic data in real time through our CMS instead of waiting for our monthly analytic reports. Feel free to get in touch for further information.

E-marketing

In 2010, we will be launching a new e-marketing module for all our clients which will link directly with membership and subscriptions data, giving you greater access and control. The module will be completely free to use and should be available early next year.

Browsers

Despite planning to discontinue support for the Internet Explorer 6 browser, we have decided to continue to support it in 2010 as an incredible 18% of users still use it. You'll also be pleased to know that MangoCMS was upgraded earlier in the year to support spell check, multilingual, IE8 and TinyMCE. If you want to know more about updating your current MangoCMS, just give us a call.

onedoor launch

paintball masterclass

paintballEarlier this year, Mango Studio teamed up with Teesside University and Allout Adventures to take on paintballing!

Based in an Edwardian mansion set in over 1000 acres of moorland and forest in Northumbria, Allout Adventures is one of the UK’s leading events management organisations specialising in outdoor activities.

Allout Adventures appointed Mango Studio to develop a web management and booking system.

Following the completion of the project, Scott Murray of Allout Adventures commented, "We are extremely pleased with the outcome of the project with Mango Studio. They rapidly and professionally gained a comprehensive understanding of what we required and then designed, delivered and installed the necessary systems which worked exactly as planned."

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Allout Adventures, and the paintballing was a great team building exercise (if only there weren’t so many bruises!).

have a jolly christmas

paintballWell it’s that time of year again and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas and happy new year!

We very much look forward to developing and strengthening our relationships with you in 2010. Here’s to a happy and fun Christmas!
